Our client, a public agency, is looking for a KM consultant to develop and maintain a system for capturing and tracking institutional memory. The Agency is faced with the upcoming retirement of senior technical staff members and it wishes to document job responsibilities, lessons learned, good practices and standard operating procedures.
Document and analyze existing knowledge bases within the Agency. Present weaknesses and identify gaps and challenges.
Make recommendations to improve knowledge functions.
Interview key technical staff and document their work processes. This may include video presentations, wikis and reports.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
2 + years of Information/Knowledge management experience.
Excellent communication skills, ability to interact and gain rapport with technical staff. Ability to work collaboratively and gain consensus.
Ability to explain complex concepts in layperson’s terms and present results in a variety of formats. Excellent writing skills and experience with technical information a plus.
Excellent computer skills with knowledge of SharePoint a plus.
