Outreach Specialist -Position Filled!

Our client is a marketing communications, public outreach, and stakeholder engagement agency based in Emeryville. They’ve been in business for over 25 years and are a tight-knit team of inspired, creatively minded people with a strong client service culture. They provide a full range of integrated communications and engagement services in the fields of transportation, environmental planning, engineering, water resources, and construction. 
 
As an Outreach Specialist, you will deliver a scope of work focused on public engagement, working with team members, clients, and vendors, while adhering to the agreed scope, budget, and schedule. They are a growing and thriving agency, so you will need to be responsible, collaborative, and move quickly yet precisely within an evolving, fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time position, with lots of opportunity for growth, depending on your interests and skills.
 
Duties:

  • Coordinate with Project Managers to assist with several major public outreach and stakeholder engagement campaigns for multi-faceted, high-profile projects.
  • Collaborate in preparing communications strategies that satisfy our clients’ needs.
  • Attend some client meetings as a point-of-contact for clients and teams.
  • Perform and ensure quality assurance/quality control for deliverables when preparing draft deliverables for Project Manager and/or Principal to review.
  • Develop a wide range of collateral (print and digital), coordinating with graphic designers and ensuring collateral is in alignment with client expectations.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and facilitating in person and online events.

  • Think strategically and insightfully in delivering multi-faceted outreach and communications campaigns to meet client needs.

  • Are familiar with task and project budgets.
  • Have a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and work style to keep projects moving forward.
  • Are able to meet management objectives without direct supervision. 
  • Have comfort and a credible presence in front of senior-level clients and stakeholders.
  • Are meticulously organized with strong communication skills and can interact with a variety of roles, both internally and externally.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years’ experience in communications, writing, marketing.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to develop and integrate key messages into a communications program.
  • Outstanding, compelling writing and storytelling skills, that attracts and retains audiences' interest from start to finish, with an eye for integrating graphic design and written content together to create cohesive, streamlined work product.
  • Experience collaborating with internal specialists and/or external vendors for web, video, graphic design, printing, mailing, and translation needs.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications including Microsoft Office and cloud-based file-sharing services.


It’d be great if you had...
  • Successful track record at a communications or marketing/PR agency, or as a member of a communications team at a company or organization.
  • Prior experience in the transportation, engineering, environmental, water resources, planning, or construction industries.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with NEPA and CEQA environmental processes and documentation.
  • Experience working with task management tools.
  • Familiarity with government contracts (federal, state, and/or local).
  • Skills in developing creative integrated marketing and outreach strategies that deeply engage the audience and influence decisions and behavior. 
This is a full-time non-exempt role with an expected hourly pay range of $35.00/hour ($72,800 annually) to $55.00/hour ($114,400 annually). Vacation, sick leave, a healthcare stipend, 401K, and other benefits offered, pending eligibility. Hybrid schedule of in-office (Emeryville) and remote work currently in place. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
